Legacy of Light

For 50 years, Citizen has led the way in light-powered watchmaking innovation. Today, Citizen boasts an expansive collection of Eco-Drive watches powered by any light.* For Earth Month 2026, Citizen marked this milestone by amplifying Eco-Drive's ever-growing impact. We built Legacy of Light: a WebGL-driven particle sculpture that starts dark and glows brighter and brighter in real time, as each new purchase supports Unite to Light in providing solar lights to communities in need. From the Fifth Avenue flagship to citizenwatch.com, the experience extended across every touchpoint.

50 years of light. One sculpture
to hold it all.

Each particle in the sculpture represents a real customer. Each cluster, a real donation. Each rollover, an individual. The system was built to evolve live — pulling real purchase data and updating in real time as the campaign ran.

The campaign was built around a single proof point: that a legacy only means something if people can see it growing. Innovation made visible in real time. From the Eco-Drive landing page to the Fifth Avenue flagship — every touchpoint fed the same growing monument.
